10 Best Nightclubs in Orlando

From orlando on May 21, 2017

Many of the best nightclubs in Orlando are scattered around the Downtown area near Lake Eola Park, a few blocks away from the historic Church Street (which is more about the quieter bars and restaurants). In terms of what to expect, Orlando packs in a surprisingly long list of clubs; some of focus more on the whole ‘look-at-me’ VIP experience, while others put emphasis on the live music, welcoming some of the world’s biggest DJs and bands on a semi-regular basis.

Just like the rest of the country, Orlando nightclubs have welcomed the global phenomenon that is EDM with open arms, and there are plenty of venues dotted around Orange Avenue where you go for some hands-in-the-air-action almost every night of the week, with doors closing around 02:00. We’ve also included some of the city’s more diverse concert venues, as well as a couple of wildcards for the non-clubbers out there. Do note that these are 21+ only where ID is required, unless otherwise stated. Find our top 10 clubs in Orlando below!

1 Eve

EVE Orlando has a main club room upstairs that goes big on style, both in times or décor and the crowd it seems to attract. The giant glass chandelier above the dance floor is the main focal point, while an LED wall, TV screens, and more VIP booths have been added as part of the refurbishment. There’s a cool 400-square-foot balcony overlooking the busy Orange Avenue below – one of the most popular nightlife streets in town – while an equally stylish lounge downstairs plays more laid-back house music compared to the dance anthems in the main EVE room. Tier is one of the leading nightclubs in Orlando for electronic dance music and is located near a cluster of similar venues a block or so away from Lake Eola Park in Downtown. Emphasis here is really is on the live DJs, with the whole club focusing on the central DJ booth; the compact dance floor at the front is surrounded by a few booths, and there is also an upstairs level providing more dancing space and a few more VIP booths. Doors are open every night (apart from Mondays) at 22:00, though to get the full Tier experience its best to head here around midnight on a weekend night. Read More...

3 The Attic Orlando

image (2).jpg

Attic is one of the many top night spots located around the Church Street and Lake Eola Park area of Downtown (both of which are just one block away in fact). The large club follows the whole three-in-one concept of most other places nearby, with a bar area, VIP lounge and main club room. Tuesday through Saturday Attic welcomes local DJs and the occasional international name, and one thing you can be certain of is it that it will be back-to-back EDM anthems all night long. There’s a definite VIP-vibe created throughout, with a young, dressed up crowd downing bottles of Belvedere on ice, though the interior goes for the more underground, industrial look with a nice mix of exposed brick walls behind the DJ booth and a wooden slate covered dance floor. The Beacham is a bit of a nightlife institution in Orlando, well-known for throwing huge parties and welcoming live bands and DJs who pack out the enormous venue, set in a converted old theater on North Orange Avenue. The main room is equipped with a state-of-the-art sound system and lighting, with the main stage having welcomed the likes of 50 Cent, Flo Rider, Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto and David Guetta in recent years. 6 Vyce Lounge

image (5).jpg

Vyce Lounge claims to be ‘Orlando’s only boutique nightclub’, which we can only guess refers to the fact that it’s small, sleek and a bit pricey. As soon as you’ve stepped off the street and into the club you’re practically already on the dance floor, which doesn’t normally get jumping until well after midnight. A row of small VIP booths line the left side, while two main bars make up the rest of the venue. Look out for Magic Mike – a big name in Orlando’s clubbing scene – who is the resident DJ playing every Saturday from 22:00 (house, hip-hop, and electro).

7 Independent Bar

image (6).jpg

Another multi-level nightclub in Downtown Orlando, Independent Bar is one of the older places to make our list. Split over three floors, there are two main club rooms and a more chilled out bar. Independent Bar is quite famous for its themed 80s night, while other nights you can expect a just as an eclectic playlist, with the DJ spinning everything from indie anthems, to cheesy 90s tunes, top 40 hits and, house. They also run 18+ nights, though you’ll still need your ID to get in. Find Independent Bar right next to The Beach on the corner of North Orange Avenue and Washington Street, with doors generally opening from 21:00 and running through until 02:30.

8 Venue 578

image (7).jpg

Billed as Downtown’s premier concert venue, this good-looking and rather huge nightclub rolls out an ever-changing lineup of artists. Music each night can be anything from hip hop and dancehall, to mainstream, house, electro and even thrash metal, so it’s best to check the schedule at Venue 578 before planning your big night out. Bottle service is available if you book a table in advance, though most chose to order at the bar then hit the main dance floor with a drink in-hand.

9 Cowboys

Proving that nightclubs in Orlando aren't just about the EDM, VIP booths, and fancy cocktails, the longstanding Cowboys club near Clear Lake offers a more authentic slice of American after-dark fun. Think live country music, line dancing sessions and no less than 30 - yes THIRTY - TVs to catch the game or latest NASCAR action. The venue looks like a bit of a sad affair from the outside, with the chunky container sat in a sorry looking parking lot off a busy highway; don’t let that put you off, though, as once you’re inside you’re greeted by friendly wait staff, a vibrant color scheme and a nice mix of comfortable seating options. Those aged 18 years and over can also take part in their line dancing lessons during the week, though you will need your ID (21 up) to get served a proper drink.

Opening Hours: 20:00-02:00

10 Cuba Libre Rum Bar

image (9).jpg

Located at the highly-recommended Pointe Orlando (basically a purpose-built complex of bars, restaurants and shops), this themed venue goes big on the Latin vibes with classic Havana-inspired décor, a menu of Cuban comfort food and a long list of exotic cocktails, which tend to be rum-based, naturally. Although more of a restaurant in the day time, arrive here after they stop serving food (22:00) on the weekend and you’ll find much more of a club vibe; tables and chairs are cleared out of the way for dancing, with the house DJ spinning a lively Latin party mix until past 02:00. Most bottles are under $200, and you can book a table in advance with the number below.
